Gloomy Tuesday

What is it about the weather that totally affects our moods? I feel kinda blah today...mirroring the weather I see outside. I did take advantage of a rare day spent at home (usually at the pool) and got alot of stuff done that needed it. Got all my plants watered, got the boys fish tanks cleaned, loads and loads of laundry washed and folded, kitchen cleaned, floor mopped. So all in all not a bad day.

Back after crashing!!!

Dont know what happened...or what went wrong...but my antivirus found a virus, and when I cleaned it..my whole system went down!!! Gone...kaput!!! Couldnt even get windows to run...it was bad!! Basically we had to reformat the whole computer and start from scratch. WHen I think of all the cool pics, graphics ect that I lost it makes me want to scream. AH well...I guess life goes on!!!!

It may take a few days but hopefully I will get most everything back and running. Now Im off to try and recover my bloglines so I can catch up on everyone!!!!

Not a baby anymore!!!!

Gosh they grow up so fast! I mean blink a few times and there go 2 or 3 years. Seems like I just gave birth to him, taught him to walk, ride a bike, play ball, not cringe whenever he crossed the street by himself....and now he is getting ready to graduate from junior high school. Where did the time go?

Friday night was his 8th grade dance. He looked sooo hansome I could barely stand it. You will see in his pictures that his hair needs to be cut(a long standing arguement between the 2 of us) but he loves it long. For that matter all the girls he knows tell him to leave it long too...so I guess Mom is outvoted for now. Its just so hard for me to believe that my little baby boy is turning into a man. Not much little boy left in there at all. Once in a while I catch a glimpse of it, when he doesnt know hes being watched, or when he doesnt have to be cool... those are the times I treasure!!!

Thirteen Things Tish Loves 1. My husband- He works hard all day so I can be a SAHM. I know some days it has to be hard to get up and go to work knowing that I get to stay home and play all day. (Ok well maybe not play....but I def dont work as hard as he does) He loves me for who I am, faults and all. 2. My DS-14- My first born. WHile he drives me crazy on a daily basis, and constantly makes me want to tear my hair out..lol, I think the person I am today is in a large part to the lessons Ive learned while raising him. He is my staunchest defender when ever he thinks someone is threatening me or treating me with disrespect. He is my gorgeous, daring, loving explorer, and I thank God for him every day. 3. My DS-12- My baby. He is the light of my life. If ever I was to find a kindred spirit it would be him. We share so many things... our sensitivities, our humor, our go with the flow (until you really piss us off) attitude. He is my child, my baby, and my light. He makes every day brighter with his warm smiles and ever ready hugs!!! 4. My DSD-18 My first child. Thru her I learned many of the things I needed to know about being a Mommy. Even though it was on a part-time basis, the things we shared could fill a lifetime. She just turned 18 last week, and it is amazing to watch the beautiful young woman she is turning into. I so look forward to the fun we will share in her adult years. 5. My golden boy- Romeo. He is my best friend. He loves me unconditionally and is always ready to play. He looks at me like I am the center of his universe!!! 6. My cat Pumpkin- He keeps me on my toes. He is alway up to no good and trying to escape, but he always comes running to Mommy when I call him. No one else gets that response. He snuggles with me at night and keeps me warm. Even when I dont need to be kept warm!! 7. My golden girl- Juliette. She is just a bundle of fun and energy. ALway wants to play and run around. Loves to chase things. She makes me smile with her crazy ways and her puppy kisses. Who doesnt love puppy kisses??? 8. My cat Tiger- She was given to me by my DSD-18. She knew I wanted a girl kitty (up until her I was the only girl in the house) so she saved her from a litter of kittens her cat had for me. She is a sweet lovable ball of fluff, and loves to lay in my lap and have her tummy rubbed. 9. My Mom. She is always there to listen, to love, and to lend a hand. We have soo much fun together it should be a crime! She makes me laugh, crys with me when I cry, and dries my tears. She is everything a Mother could and should be. 10. My family (outside of the ones I already mentioned) I have a great family. They are a great group. They are there thru the good times and the bad, and I love them for it! 11. My home- Its not a great house by any standards...but it is ours. It is where we grew as a couple, raised a family and loved each other more every day. There are alot of things Id like to change about it....but never the love that lives inside it. 12. My life- Ive got it very good. My family loves me, my pets adore me, my friends like me(as for as they tell me anyways) and we have enough to appreciate what we have. Life is good! 13. Myself- Not all the time, not everyday but Im working on that. Right now in this moment of time I do love myself. Im a good mother, a good wife, and a good friend...thats all I can ask of myself! Feeling like flinging!!!

Dont know what brought this mood on..but Im taking advantage of it! For those of you who arent familiar with it, flinging is a term that Flylady uses! It means getting rid of unnecessary unloved junk!!! ANd Im on a roll!!!! My kitchen has just felt my flinging wrath and the bathroom is next on my list. My downstairs bathroom also houses my washer and dryer and all the stuff that goes along with the laundry so you can imagine the clutter in there! Im off to conquer the clutter!!! Waaahooooo!!!!!!!

Monday again!

Already??? Where did my weekend go? For that matter where did the last week go? A week sounds like alot of time..but its here and gone before I know it. What did I get done?? Um judging by the state of my house..not a whole lot!!! LOL. I did watch Cheaper by the Dozen 2...that was a really cute movie!!!
Other than that I just got the basics done, a little wash, little straightening up...carted the kids all over creation!!! Typical weekend. One thing different is that ds-14 and I went shopping for his 8th grade graduation dance outfit. Its semi-formal so no tux required...lol. We finally agreed on an outfit...nice black button down shirt with wide stripes of black down the front. The shirt is black and the stripes are like silky black if that makes any sense. Ill post picks after the dance. He also agreed to black dress pants..but where we differed greatly on opinion was the shoes....sigh. He won that battle only because I know him and knew he wouldnt wear the dress shoes even if I bought them. He got black suede sneakers...(grrrrrrr). I finally gave in after telling myself over and over that it is his dance not mine...and if he wants to wear sneakers...thats on him. It still makes me nuts down in that control freak area that I try very hard to supress. I guess I should be glad hes a boy. Shopping for a girl would be much harder....(but alot more fun..lol)

Back from vacation!!

Well we are back!!! We had a great time!!! I love it in VIrginia....its so peaceful there. Its like taking a vacation from my everyday worries and cares. No phone ringing off the hook, no tv all day long for the boys, they get along better...its sooo nice!
On the downside...coming home from vacation means lots of extra work for Mommy. 5 days worth of laundry to catch up on, food shopping to do, getting back in the swing of things always seems so hard!!!
Well off I go to get some more stuff done. DS-14 has karate tonite and tomorrow ( he tests for his next belt tom) so I need to get some stuff done before we have to leave!!

Im hoping for a good rain tonite...my plants need it!!!!

Let the countdown begin!!!!

Well its almost time for us to leave for Virginia! Im looking forward to this vacation even more than before!!! Probably because the weather is supposed to be warmer, so hopefully we will get to swim..at least in the pool if the ocean is too cool!!!!

We are going to Chincoteague. Its a quaint little town that has such a slow relaxing pace its almost like going back in time! Its the kind of town I would love to live in and raise my kids in..but unfortunately jobs are in short supply down there!!! My boys love it down there. My oldest fishes until he smells more like a sea creature than they do!!! My husband fishes too..but not nearly as much as my son. We spend the early part of the day until about 3 on the beach, then ds-14 and dh head off to fish. Ds-12, Me and Mom get dinner ready, "cruise the hood" on the golf cart, and walk the dogs( all 4 of them counting my 2 and Moms 2) Mom loves it down there too. She calls it her peaceful place!!!

Guess thats it for now. Ill be gone until Monday, so there prob wont be any more posts till at least Tuesday!!! When I get home Ill have a new pic of me to post...prob another sunburned one!!! LOL!!!Have a great weekend!!!

Just another day in paradise!

Well its been a good day!! Eating-wise..and other-wise. Ive gotten lots of things done on my to-do list, the kids are packed for our weekend getaway, the wash is caught up, the dishes done, and Momma is a happy girl! Not to mention DH is working late tonite so there is a nice peaceful tone for the night tonite..not the usual rush to get dinner ready ect.

Also I get to watch whatever I want on tv tonite....lol. Which will be American Idol. I swore I wasnt gonna get hooked on that show again, and did really well until last night when I tuned in just to hear Katherine sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow. I love that song. Of course now Im hooked again..and will have to watch tonite to find out what happens. When will I ever learn??? Im rooting for Katherine btw...Im thinking that Taylor will probably win...esp since there hasnt been a male winner in a while. I dont like him as much as her. I dont hate him or anything...just not feeling him. Guess only time will tell.

Moody Momma

Im glad to see that Im not alone in the whole "in such a mood I can barely stand myself" feeling. I read a couple of my other IRL friends posts on their blogs..and can relate so well its almost like I wrote them myself. Its funny dont know if there was a funky moon, or its my PMS acting up..but I was definitely not in a great mood for the last few days. I had alot to be thankful for..I was down the shore, the weather was beautiful, my kids were fairly well-behaved, dh was nice enough to let me and the kids go away for the weekend while he stayed home and worked, we were doing fun stuff..but I still felt moody. Not scream and rant moody...but just not content. Quiet and withdrawn....what causes that?? Now in my defense..Im supposed to take medicine 2 weeks before my period....to help with my PMS moods. I am usually very good about keeping up with that..but havent been lately. Im sure that is partly to blame. Gotta be better about staying on track with that.
Today I am feeling better...Im wondering if its just by chance, or due in part to the fact that I actually went to the gym yesterday and worked out? Im going again today to check out that theory.
Another reason I havent been very happy lately is that my eating has been out of control lately. My WL efforts have come to a standstill..well actually not to a standstill...Im gaining so Im totally going in the wrong direction..and I just cant seem to find the willpower to make a change. I dont think about what Im eating until after Ive eaten it..and then its too late to do anything about it. Then I feel guilty about eating junk, worry about gaining all that weight and more back, selfish because part of me just doesnt care, and tries to talk the caring part of me into not caring too. Its so hard. I know what I need to be doing...I just dont do it. I keep telling myself..tomorrow Ill be better..tomorrow Ill get basck on track...unfortunately tomorrow never comes!!!
Well thats all for now. Im off to get on the scale to give myself a real reality check. Ive been avoiding it for weeks because I know its not going to be good...but Im just gonna get it over with. Maybe it will give me the incentive to get more of a grip on myself. Hopefully!!!

Thirteen Things Tish is Thankful For! 1. That I feel better. Had a doozie of a cold and it was kicking my butt yesterday!!! 2. That I got to sleep in all day yesterday so that I could feel better today! 3. My kids were good yesterday and didnt fight too much because I didnt have the strength to stop them. 4. DH took the day off and got the kids to school so I didnt have to. 5. It is thursday and my new washer will hopefully be in tonite. Ive got tons of wash to catch up on due to being w/o one since Sat. 6. Its almost Friday! 7. Tomorrow the kids and I are heading down to Virginia for the weekend. I love going down there to my Moms..its so peaceful!! 8. The beautiful swing for out back that I got fdor Mother's Day. 9. The rain we've been having as I just planted grass seed out back. My flowerbeds are loving all this rain. 10. The sun we've been having in between the rain..it makes it so much better when we get rain and sun in the same day. In a perfect world it would be sunny all day and rain every night! 11. My grandmother is feeling better. Her medicines were changed and she wasnt feeling her self. She got them switched back and is feeling much better. 12. A family that loves us. 13. A family that we can love back. We may complain alot about our familes ( his and mine) but in the long run we are both lucky.

Where has the time gone?

Well its been a few days since Ive posted....sorry bout that! Its been hectic and crazy as my life usually is! My stepdaughter and a friend of mine introduced me to the Myspace site, and now Im getting caught up in that too. LOL. All this html stuff is fun!!! Been playing with stuff on that site and neglecting this one. GOnna try and keep up with both of them. Ill add a link to myspace later, because Im at my Moms in Delawre, and she still has dial-up..and I doubt if I have the patience to try it here!!!!
In other news Ds-14 qualified for the Karate Nationals in Tennessee this July by placing 2nd in both Points Sparring and Olympic Sparring at the Karate State Championship this weekend. I was very excited for him, but Ds was more concerned about the fact that he lost the matches. Im hoping losing was a good thing for him and teaches him to focus a little more on his training. Hes been slacking lately! THe other thing Im hoping about is that he manages to pass Language Arts this semester. He has to do that with a grde of 89 or better. If not he faces summer school, and will be unable to attend the Nationals in July. Now isnt that a bummer?????

Good Monday Morning!!!

Not much is new here....pretty uneventful weekend. Mommy was cranky all weekend...thanks PMS...so nothing much got done. Im feeling better today...at least for now...lol...so I have a plan to get some much needed housework done around here!
Little boy is here, (the one I babysit) and hes currently watching Madagascar..his new favorite. As soon as I am done on here...he will be following me around the house helping me..lol. So cute! I dont remember my boys wanting to help so much. Maybe because they had each other to play with and he is an only child.
Got a few errands to run, and ds-14 just called from school to say he needs me to come up and sign a trip permission slip..even though I have already signed one twice. He is soooo disorganized...I try and help..but Im not too much better. Thank goodness I was a little more organized at school than he is, or Id never have made it out alive!!!
One of my new books came over the weekend. The houseplant care one. Took some time and read up on some of my houseplants..some of them I am right on the dime as far as their care, and sun needs go...a few others I was doing all the wrong things..lol. I have a poor pine tree that has been struggling to live since around xmas time. I thought it needed less light and cooler temps...turns out it needs high ligh..and ALOT of humidity! Who knew. Hopefully I can get it to thrive now, because it is def near death!

We're so misunderstood. People in other parts of the country, and most recently Buffalo (since the Flyers are playing the Sabres), hate Philadelphia fans. They call us "Scumbags". They say we have no class. I say, we have passion. We have a f@%$ing TON of passion. We hate the other team, the other team's fans, the other team's fans' kids, the other team's fans' pets... everyone and everything that has to do with the other team. When the Olympics were on, and the teams split up to go to their National teams, I hated everyone on the Flyers, even, who wasn't American, but only for those two weeks :) When it was Forsberg and Niitymaki in the final game of the Olympics, I had calmed down on my hatred a bit, but had no idea who to cheer for, since they're both great Flyers. Flyers fans will throw beer, punches, kicks, bras, food, truckloads of profanities, and anything else they can get their hands on. They will get kicked out of the game. And they will love every minute of it. If you are cheering for the other team, you will have never experienced as much misery in your whole life than during those three hours. We'll try to fight the players on the other team (Picture Tie Domi in the penalty box). We'll cheer when they're injured. We'd give anything to see a fight. But we love our teams. We love the Flyers. And they love us back. It's an "us against the world" mentality. We stick together through the thick and thin. If the team senses that the fans aren't cheering enough, they'll go knock someone's head off. If the fans aren't sensing that the team is giving it their all, we'll BOO the s@#% out of them. It's a two way deal. We're both crutches, carrying our crippled city's championship history to the goal. A championship in Philadelphia. With our help, and some sh%^ kicking, jaw gnashing, hatred of the other teams, we will make it. So, other cities of the NHL, understand that when you think lowly of the fans of Philadelphia, and the team of Philadelphia... you only make us proud!



God I LOVE Hockey!!!!!
